Easy Trekking

Easy Trekking is a website which sells camping and backpacking equipment. We have toured the finest outdoor gear trade shows, drawn on personal experience and researched the experience of others to come up with our suite of products. We have also taken time out to create home videos of most of the products. These videos are created with the intent to give you a better look at what your are purchasing or considering purchasing. They are part of your research tools in deciding which product on the market is right for you.

Quality Matters
One thing that differentiates Easy Trekking from other websites that sell camping gear is that we only sell products that we feel meet our own personal standards of excellence. We have at times run into items from manufactures that while at first seemed good but when field tested, we discovered major deficiencies. When this happens, we exclude it from our website and find other avenues to sell them - or opt to give them away to organizations such as the local boy scouts.

Products

  • Tents We offer tents for backpacking and for carside camping. These three are our favorites:

    • Turbo Tents These large heavy duty tents by Black Pine set up so easily. Recently, our church had a large campout on the beach and everyone was spending 20 minutes fumbling through their ropes and poles working to set up their 6 person tents. Ours went up in about 3 minutes and was much heavier duty than all the rest.
    • Nemo GOGO This one person backpacking tent weighs about 2 lbs and packs up into the size of a large cantaloupe. It has no poles and the center section stands up by a pumped up air beam. Real slick.
    • Kelty Grand Mesa This two person backpacking tent only weighs about 4 lbs and is perfectly sized for two persons. It has good mesh windows and a door and the fly sets up easily and had a good sized vestibule for your equipment.
  • Sleeping Bags We sell Kelty, Grizzly, and a small selection of Black Pine sleeping bags. For basic camping, we absolutely love the Grizzly sleeping bags. They are so soft and plush. Too bad they weigh about 9 lbs or more, so we cannot take them backpacking. The Kelty bags - most particularly the Light Year Down is a great sleeping bag for backpacking. It is very light weight, packs up real small, and feels like silk.
  • SPOT This satellite messaging system is perhaps the single most important item of equipment any outdoors enthusiast should carry with them. It will do several things for you.
    1. Track the places you have been onto Google Maps.
    2. Send an OK message to your friends and family members by email or text message including a link of your location on Google Maps.
    3. Send a help or distress message to family and friends by email and text message including a link of your location on Google Maps.
    4. Notify the SPOT Emergency Response Center of an immediate emergency with your exact location for them to act upon and contact the appropriate rescue units to assist you.
  • Cots You can’t beat the price / quality mix you are getting with the cots by Rio Adventure - recently acquired by GCI Outdoor. These blue canvas cots are tough and fairly easy to set up. They create a firm bedding so you will still want a sleeping pad. But these cots will give you about the best sleeping foundation you could possibly get while camping in a tent.
  • Sleeping Pads The Nemo Tuo Sleeping pad provide a double layer of comfort for your protection. These pads have to layers so that if you poke a hole in one side, you will still have padding to keep you comfortable. The TUO Luxury is so comfortable, it is almost as good as your bed. We also offer sleeping pads by Pacific Outdoor which showcases the Ether Thermo 6 which is a perfect pad for backpackers who sleep on their side.
  • Granite Gear Backpacks These backpacks are the top of the line. They are light weight, comfortable, and very durable. In fact, the Nimbus Meridian has been tested by a backpacker who took it for 10,000 miles in one year. The Nimbus Meridian is both a top loading and a front loading pack. The Vapor Trail is a top loading backpack. Both are very light weight. Both are very comfortable. Both have thick padding at your back to protect from lumpiness in you pack. Both ride on your shoulders and hips in at a level of comfort in a pack I have never before felt.
